Description
Pearl barley, or pearled barley, is whole-grain barley that has been processed to remove its fibrous outer hull and polished to remove some or all of the bran.
- It is the primary ingredient of Orzotto, a popular Italian dish, similar to risotto and made with pearl barley instead of rice
- It is also used in soups, stews, and potages
- Organic wholegrain pearl barley can be used to bulk up soups and stews or made into a salad for a substantial main meal, or it can be used in place of arborio rice in risotto.
