Description
The black autumn truffle is undoubtedly the most common variety in nature, of variable size and characterized by a wrinkled and pyramidal peridium and a gleba that goes from yellowish to hazel. Fresh Black Winter Truffle is usually cultivated from early December to 15 March and is freshly available at Casinetto.
- Slightly peppery and bitter, with a rich, earthy depth that intensifies upon heating.
- Strong, aromatic scent reminiscent of undergrowth, wet earth, and dried fruit with hints of cocoa.
- Thinly slice or grate over dishes just before serving to preserve aroma and flavour.
Fresh Black Winter Truffle
Place the truffle in a clean, airtight plastic or glass container, stored in the refrigerator between 0-4°C and to be consumed within 3 days.
